Bhopal: Cooperative Minister Shri Vishwas Kailash Sarang inspected the Metro construction work at Karond Square. He visited the entire route and talked to traders and common citizens. During the inspection, Minister Shri Sarang gave necessary directions to the present officers to do quality work within the stipulated time period as well as to solve the problems of the residents. He said that it should be ensured that there is no disruption in traffic and movement of citizens at Karond Square due to the Metro project.
Instructions given to officers to make traffic smooth along with the metro project
During the inspection, local citizens and traders informed Minister Shri Sarang that there is difficulty in movement due to the barricading done due to the construction of piers. Also, due to excessive traffic pressure at Karond intersection, a situation of jam is being created during the day.
Minister Shri Sarang directed to remove the duct built on the left side of the road near the barricading installed from Karond Square to Housing Board, so that additional route can be made available and traffic pressure can be reduced. Along with this, instructions were also given to the officials to shift the street vendors to another place in a systematic manner.
The barricades will be removed as soon as the work on the piers is completed in 4 months
Metro officials informed that the proposed construction work of a total of 70 piers from Karond Square to Nishatpura Gate is in progress and it will be completed in the next 4 months.
Minister Shri Sarang gave clear instructions and said, “The pier construction work should be completed within the stipulated time frame and the barricades should be removed so that the citizens can get relief. Special attention should be paid to safety standards and the Metro Corporation should prepare a clear timeline and calendar for the construction work.”
During the inspection, senior officials from various departments were present, including representatives from the Metro Rail Project, Public Works Department, Municipal Corporation, Traffic Police and District Administration.
