Mayor Meenal Chaubey’s initiative: New scheme to provide timely pension to 30 thousand people

Raipur – Today, Mayor of Municipal Corporation Raipur, Mrs. Meenal Chaubey, in a meeting of Urban and Poverty Alleviation Department, discussed and deliberated with all MIC members and zone presidents, and took an innovative initiative for the welfare of the society to provide regular and systematic pension every month to about 30 thousand poor beneficiaries eligible for pension through the government’s social welfare schemes in the capital city. In the meeting, the Mayor has given instructions to ensure that the camps organized by banks in the wards for pension beneficiaries are organized in the community buildings of Municipal Corporation Raipur, and to ensure the arrangements of pandal, water and chairs at the camp sites through the banks. Mayor, Mrs. Meenal Chaubey has suggested to Additional Commissioner Rajendra Prasad Gupta and Deputy Commissioner Dr. Anjali Sharma regarding simplifying the payment process afresh to ensure timely and regular pension to all eligible approximately 30 thousand pension beneficiaries and if possible, then administrative arrangements can be made for payment of pension amount to approximately 30 thousand poor eligible beneficiaries through 4 new banks assembly constituency wise. If this is possible, then it can be a better option to make timely and regular pension payments through banks. If it is practically possible, the Mayor has suggested to implement it in the interest of society. Taking a decision on the suggestions of the MIC members and zone presidents present in the meeting, Mayor Mrs. Meenal Chaubey has directed the officials that no change will be made in the bank accounts of beneficiaries being changed from IDBI Bank to Bank of Baroda till summer and a decision will be taken on this after summer. Instructions have been given to maintain the current system during summer, so that eligible poor beneficiaries do not have to face any inconvenience in changing bank accounts during summer. The Mayor has clearly directed that the concerned officials of the Urban Poverty Alleviation Department should come to the review meeting to be held after summer with complete information, they should ensure this at all costs, so that a clear decision in the interest of the society can be taken for the welfare of eligible poor beneficiaries. Mayor Mrs. Meenal Chaubey has directed that if the banks face any problems in providing the benefits of the socially beneficial Pradhan Mantri Mudra Loan Scheme of the Central Government to the common people, then a written application should be given immediately regarding this. Mayor Mrs. Meenal Chaubey called the meeting of Urban and Poverty Alleviation Department in the Mayor’s office room to resolve the practical problems related to the pension of the pension beneficiaries of social welfare schemes in the interest of the society. In this meeting, Chairman of Urban and Poverty Alleviation Department Khem Kumar Sen, MIC members Mr. Manoj Verma, Deepak Jaiswal, Santosh Seema Sahu, Avtar Bharti Bagal, Amar Gidwani, Mahendra Khodiyar, Bholaram Sahu, Nandkishore Sahu, Mrs. Gayatri Sunil Chandrakar, Mrs. Suman Ashok Pandey, Dr. Anamika Singh, Mrs. Sanjana Hiyal, Zone President Mr. Gajju Sahu, Murali Sharma, Amber Agarwal, Badri Prasad Gupta, Pritam Singh Thakur, Gopesh Sahu, Sachin B. Meghani, Mrs. Shweta Vishwakarma, Mrs. Sadhana Pramod Sahu were present.
