Mass marriage is very helpful in increasing social unity and brotherhood: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav

Bhopal :  Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that mass marriage programs reflect the commitment of our government in which we help every daughter of the state to start a new life with respect and dignity. He said that mass marriage programs not only provide help to economically weak families , but are also very helpful in promoting the feeling of unity and brotherhood and social harmony in the society.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav virtually attended the mass marriage ceremony held in Bagli assembly constituency of Dewas from the Chief Minister’s residence on Saturday. 230 daughters were given kanyadaan and 15 daughters were married in the mass marriage ceremony and they were ushered into a new life.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that our government is continuously working for women empowerment and social justice. Our efforts are continuing towards making women self-reliant. For the welfare and development of the sisters and daughters of the state, we have made a provision of Rs 27 thousand 147 crore in the annual budget of the year 2025-26 . It is a matter of satisfaction that the gender budget of the state has doubled in the last 6 years. In this year’s budget, we have made a provision of Rs 18 thousand 669 crore for Chief Minister Ladli Behna and Rs 1 thousand 183 crore for Ladli Laxmi Yojana . To promote women in government jobs, up to 35 percent reservation is being given in Madhya Pradesh Public Service. The result of 50 percent reservation to women in the elections of local bodies is that 50 percent of the local bodies of the state are in the hands of women. The government is also giving exemption on registering land in the name of women. The benefit of this is that now 45 percent of the properties are being purchased in the name of women.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that through various pension schemes we are making the lives of our sisters easier. More than 62 lakh of our rural sisters have now become self-reliant through about 5 lakh self-help groups.

Blessing all the couples, especially the daughters, the Chief Minister said that they should move ahead in their lives by taking advantage of various schemes of the government and work for the betterment of their family and society.

Present at the event venue in Bagli were   the regional Member of Parliament Mr. Mahendra Singh Solanki , the conference organiser and MLA from Bagli Mr. Murali Banesingh Bhanwar , District Panchayat President from Dewas Mrs. Lilabai Bhairulal Atadia along with other local public representatives , the bride and groom, and their families.
