Making road transport and traffic safe and smooth is our top priority: Chief Minister Sai

Raipur, 17 June 2025: Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has said that our government is giving top priority to make road transport and traffic safe and smooth. Deployment of 48 new vehicles to the flying squad engaged in transport and traffic safety will definitely reduce accidents, traffic will be smooth and awareness will increase among the people about following traffic rules. Sai was addressing the program organized at his residential office today. On this occasion, he handed over the keys of these vehicles to the inspectors of the Transport Department. Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai said that the state government is working with commitment to make road traffic safe and smooth. With the help of new government vehicles, the transport flying squad will ensure prompt action against those violating the rules. This initiative will prove to be a milestone in increasing the efficiency of the flying squad, reducing road accidents, better implementation of safety standards and improving the traffic system and maintaining discipline. He said that this will ensure monitoring and reach of the transport squad even in remote areas.
Appealing to follow traffic rules, Chief Minister Sai talked about using helmets and seat belts and protecting the lives of others by following traffic rules. He said that only with public participation can we create a safe, restrained and sensitive road environment. On this occasion, the Chief Minister also appealed to the people not to drive vehicles in a drunken state. On this occasion, MLA Purandar Mishra, Chairman of Civil Supplies Corporation Sanjay Srivastava, Secretary cum Transport Commissioner S. Prakash, Additional Transport Commissioner D. Ravishankar and officers and employees of the Transport Department were present.
