Make information about new criminal laws, sections and procedures available to the public: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav

Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that the new criminal laws made keeping in mind the current challenges are a historic step towards making the Indian judicial system more democratic. It is necessary to spread the information about these laws and new processes made with the aim of ensuring a more accessible, helpful and efficient justice system for all. Awareness activities should be conducted about the new criminal laws to make the general public aware of the new sections and procedures as soon as possible while ensuring updated systems in all the institutions related to the justice system. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav gave these instructions during the review of new criminal laws. Chief Secretary Mr. Anurag Jain, Additional Chief Secretary Dr. Rajesh Rajora, Additional Chief Secretary Home Mr. J.N. Kansotia, Director General of Police Mr. Kailash Makwana and other senior officers were present in the meeting held in the Ministry.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that training should be ensured for the use of latest technology among police, jail, prosecution, judicial and forensic personnel. Better coordination is necessary at every level among all stakeholders. Availability of necessary arrangements, equipment and physical resources should be ensured on priority basis at every level. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that to control crimes related to real estate, the revenue staff along with the police should be vigilant and alert, and there should also be mutual coordination between the two departments. Special vigilance should be exercised in those areas including urban areas of the state where land rates are increasing rapidly.

It was informed in the meeting that a new dashboard is available for challan within the stipulated time. The process of e-evidence has also been started. Nyaysruti software has been prepared for video conferencing up to police stations and sound proof rooms are being identified in police stations and control rooms. Activities are in progress under the online summons/warrant module. In the last three months, more than 50 percent of the warrants were served electronically before the date. Cells have been formed in all the districts for their monitoring. Tablets and live scanners are being made available to police stations for digital investigation. The meeting was also informed about the initiatives taken for creating awareness about cyber crimes like digital fraud, data theft.
