Major changes in Industrial Development Policy 2024-30: Youth, farmers, entrepreneurs and investors will get direct benefits

Historic decision of the State Council of Ministers – Chhattisgarh is another step towards industrial revolution

Raipur 14 May 2025: The Chhattisgarh government has taken a big step towards making the state the next industrial and employment hub of the country and approved several important amendments in the Industrial Development Policy 2024-30. This decision was taken in the meeting of the Council of Ministers chaired by Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, which will give a new direction to the socio-economic scenario of the state in the coming years. Local youth will get priority – employment will increase According to the revised policy, the companies in the industries where the youth of Chhattisgarh will get employment will get special grants from the government. This will accelerate the local employment rate and also curb migration. Modern farming will get institutional support By incorporating high-tech farming techniques like hydroponic and aeroponic in the industrial sector, farmers will be connected with technologies like modern equipment, automation and information technology. This will increase the productivity and profitability of farming.

Promotion of sports training and academies The state government will give priority to sports and youth empowerment and will encourage sports academies and private training centers. This will not only provide a platform to sports talents, but will also develop the sports industry. Higher education will get a boost There is a plan to develop Chhattisgarh as an educational hub by encouraging the establishment of quality universities. This will provide excellent education opportunities to the students of the state here. Expansion of automobile sector Now automobile repairing and service units will be recognized in every development block group. This will also increase technical employment opportunities in rural areas. New flight to tourism and hotel business The minimum limit of investment for construction of hotel-resorts in remote areas like Bastar and Surguja has been reduced. This will promote tourism in these areas and local youth will get means of livelihood. Textile industry will get double encouragement Industries investing in the textile sector will get incentives up to 200%. This will provide more opportunities to women and rural artisans in jobs like sewing, knitting and embroidery.

Chhattisgarh will become a logistics hub Under the new logistics policy, goods transportation will be made easy across the state. This will provide traders with cost reduction, time saving and faster access to markets. Disabled people will get special benefits By changing the definition of disabled people, they will be included in more and more schemes. This is a commendable step of the government towards inclusive development. Special package to defense and aerospace sector The state will now provide special incentive package to attract investment in Global Capability Center, Defense and Aerospace Industry as well. Private industrial parks will get infrastructure grant Along with promoting “plug and play” factories, private industrial parks will get incentives from the government for infrastructure development. Promotion of ease of living in the state To promote ease of living in the state, private CBSE schools and mini malls (with multiplexes) will also be recognized as thrust sectors, especially in those areas where these facilities are not available. Inclusive and regional balance based policy This policy creates a suitable model for all the regions of the state. This will reduce regional inequality. Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai said that this revised policy is not only a means of economic growth, but also a tool for social justice, future of youth and empowerment of farmers. He expressed confidence that in the coming years, Chhattisgarh will be included in the top investment destinations of the country.
