Major accident in Tehri Garhwal: Pickup full of apples overturned on the banks of Yamuna river, four injured

Tragic Apple Pickup Accident in Tehri Garhwal-A devastating accident unfolded early Sunday morning in Dhanolti, Tehri Garhwal. An apple-laden pickup truck, traveling from Mori to Vikasnagar, plunged approximately 300 meters into a ravine near Suman Kyari, Nainbag. This heart-stopping incident occurred on Delhi-Yamunotri Highway 507.
The Accident-The accident occurred around 6:00 AM. The truck, en route from Mori in Uttarkashi to Vikasnagar, veered off course at a bend, careening into the deep gorge. Two occupants were reportedly ejected before the main impact, sustaining minor injuries. The remaining two suffered serious injuries from the fall. While the exact cause remains under investigation, it’s suspected the truck lost control.
Injuries and Treatment-All four individuals involved were residents of Nurani Netwad village in Uttarkashi district. After receiving initial treatment at a nearby hospital, the two critically injured were airlifted via 108 ambulance to a higher-level medical center in Dehradun for specialized care. The other two, with minor injuries, were discharged after receiving first aid.
Rescue and Response-Upon receiving the alert, police immediately launched a rescue operation. Extracting the injured from the wreckage proved challenging, complicated by the truck’s location near the Yamuna River. Local residents joined the rescue efforts, assisting the police in their work. Authorities have pledged a full investigation into the accident’s cause and a review of safety measures in the area.
