Raipur, 19 July 2025: Punyashlok Lokmata Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar’s entire life was dedicated to social welfare. She was not only the queen of Indore, but also a just, religious and fair administrator. The work she did in the field of renovation and reconstruction of religious places and temples across the country is still inspiring for all of us. The above things were said by Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai at the drama stage ceremony based on the biography of Punyashlok Lokmata Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar organized by Vishwa Mangalya Sabha at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium, Raipur. Sai further said that we all are celebrating the 300th birth anniversary of Lokmata Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar. On this occasion, various programs are being organized in her memory across the country and the state under the guidance of the Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
This theatrical presentation based on the life of Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar ji, dedicated to good governance, Sanatan and culture, will help in conveying her great deeds to the people. Rajmata Ahilyabai Holkar is a great source of inspiration in our glorious history. The present and future generations should take inspiration from her life character. She made the concept of Ramrajya a reality. She led the Holkar dynasty for three decades. She provided exemplary arrangements for administration, justice and public welfare. The mark of her virtuous deeds is found everywhere, from Kanchi in the south, Badrinath in the north, Puri in the east and Dwarka in the west. She was the queen of Indore, but she did not limit herself to any geographical boundary. She built temples, established dharamshalas in different parts of the country and always waved the flag of religion. She was the flag bearer of Sanatan. When the name of Maharani Ahilyabai comes up, her picture comes alive with a Shivling in her hands. She rebuilt the Kashi Vishwanath temple, a symbol of India’s cultural and religious consciousness. When Aurangzeb destroyed the Kashi Vishwanath temple, this incident was extremely traumatic for the Hindu society. At that time, mother Jijabai had told Shivaji Maharaj that rebuilding the Kashi Vishwanath temple should be our top goal. Peshwa Madhavrao had also written in his will that he wished that the Kashi Vishwanath temple be rebuilt. This glorious work was accomplished by the lotus hands of Rajmata Ahilyabai Holkar.
She fulfilled the dreams of millions of devout Hindus by rebuilding the Kashi Vishwanath temple. She used to get Gangajal from Haridwar and offer it in the Shiva temple of Kanchipuram. She also got religious construction work done in the Dharamshala in Puri and Dwarka. Just as Adi Shankaracharya established the Char Dham by connecting the Sanatan tradition, in the same tradition, Rajmata Ahilyabai Holkar played an important role in connecting India culturally. On this occasion, Jagdalpur MLA Kiran Dev Sai also addressed the program. The introduction was presented by Nikita Tai of Vishva Mangalya Sabha. On this occasion, Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh, Deputy Chief Minister Arun Saw, Cabinet Minister Kedar Kashyap, State President and Jagdalpur MLA Kiran Dev Sai, Ajay Jamwal, Pawan Sai along with a large number of MLAs, MPs, Chairmen of Corporations-Boards-Commissions, public representatives and dignitaries were present.
