BHOPAL – Madhya Pradesh’s tableau will be centered on the theme of “Cheetah the Pride of India” in the Republic Day Parade-2025 organized in New Delhi. The tableau will show a glimpse of the historical restoration of cheetahs in Madhya Pradesh. Cheetahs had become extinct from India 70 years ago, the credit for the return of cheetahs to India goes to the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. With the success of the Cheetah Project in the state, Madhya Pradesh has now become a “Tiger State” and “Cheetah State” as well.
The National Kuno Sanctuary located on the banks of the Kuno River in Sheopur district of Madhya Pradesh is a new home for cheetahs in the country. The sanctuary has proper food and natural habitat for cheetahs. As a result of the successful restoration project, a total of 24 cheetahs including adults and cubs are roaming in the Kuno sanctuary.
