Madhya Pradesh will become water-rich due to public movement for water conservation: Deputy Chief Minister Shri Shukla

Bhopal: Deputy Chief Minister and Shahdol District In-charge Shri Rajendra Shukla has said that the Madhya Pradesh government is continuously working towards making ‘water-rich Madhya Pradesh’ by developing water conservation and promotion as a mass movement. He said that ‘Jal-Ganga Sanvardhan Abhiyan’ has now become a mass campaign with the participation of every village, every family and every citizen of the state. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Shukla was addressing the Jan Chaupal organized in village Panchayat Tihki under Janpad Panchayat Jaisingh Nagar of Shahdol district.
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Shukla said that conservation and enrichment of rainwater is the need of the hour. It is essential for natural balance. The state government has started Jal-Ganga Sanvardhan Abhiyan, so that we collect water, conserve it and revive water sources. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Shukla said that the womb of the earth – that is, underground water sources also need recharge. He said that if we keep extracting and do not return, then the next generation will have to face water crisis in future.
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Shukla called upon the common people to take a pledge to bring about big changes through small efforts. He said that water is not only a means of agriculture and drinking water, but it is also directly linked to culture, economy and health. He urged the villagers to make water conservation a part of cultural responsibility and social consciousness. Every school, village assembly, self-help group and youth group should participate in this work. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, water conservation has been given top priority in the country and under the guidance of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, Madhya Pradesh is emerging as a leader in this direction.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Shukla said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Modi and Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, continuous development work is being done in the country and the state, women are getting empowered, their participation in social work has increased. He said that with the construction of bridges and roads all around, business opportunities are increasing, people are getting employment. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Shukla said that the first happiness of life is a healthy body, everyone should remain healthy, for this the government is running a Nirogi Kaya Abhiyan and conducting door-to-door surveys to identify patients. This will save the common people from serious diseases. Shahdol district is at the third place in this campaign, for which he congratulated the district administration and CMHO Dr. Rajesh Mishra.
Shramdaan, gave the message of water conservation
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Shukla inaugurated the renovation work of Ram Sagar Big Pond in Village Panchayat Tihaki and gave the message of water conservation by doing shramdaan.
MLA Byauhari Shri Sharad Kol said that earlier there was never a shortage of water in the village ponds, wells, stepwells. There was plenty of water everywhere throughout the year, but now in this era, the water of wells, ponds and stepwells dries up as soon as the summer season arrives. \ He said that we have to save the nearby ponds, wells, stepwells and other water structures. They have to be cleaned and renovated. Collector Dr. Kedar Singh, while giving information about the progress of Jal Ganga Sanvardhan Abhiyan, said that more than 4 thousand water structures have been selected in the district, one-third of the work has been started, people are being made participants by organizing Jal Chaupal continuously.
