Korba News: EVM and VVPAT Machines Commissioning Work Begins

The commissioning of EVM (Electronic Voting Machine) and VVPAT (Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail) machines has begun at the IT College in Jhagraha, Korba, where the strongroom has been set up. This process ensures that the machines used during elections are checked for functionality and security to be ready for the upcoming elections.

General Observer Prem Singh Meena and District Collector and Election Officer Ajit Vasant visited the strongroom to inspect the commissioning work. They instructed all officials to follow the guidelines of the Election Commission and maintain confidentiality while carrying out the work. Trained officers and staff have been appointed for this task, who are responsible for checking and sealing the machines.

During this commissioning, the EVM and VVPAT machines used in different assembly constituencies are being inspected. These machines will be used for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections scheduled for May 7. The machines for Rampur and Pali Tanakhar assembly constituencies were commissioned today, while commissioning for Katghora and Korba assembly constituencies will be completed on April 30.

On this occasion, CEO of the District Panchayat Sambit Mishra, Additional Collector Anupam Tiwari, Dinesh Nag, Deputy District Election Officer Seema Patre, Master Trainer Dr. M.M. Joshi, and officials from various political parties were present. During this work, everyone was responsible for ensuring proper attendance, machine checks, and sealing.

The main goal of this commissioning work is to ensure everything works correctly on election day, and all votes are recorded and counted accurately.
