
Bhopal: The five-day training workshop for the newly appointed Assistant Public Relations Officers of Madhya Pradesh Public Relations Department was inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor of the University Vijay Manohar Tiwari and Additional Director Gurmeet Singh Wadhwa at Makhanlal Chaturvedi National Journalism and Communication University on Thursday. On this occasion, Vice Chancellor Tiwari said that the word ‘Jan’ is used in the word ‘Jan’, that is why they should take special care of the people. He said that while writing, the PRO should not let the journalist inside him die, he should always keep it awake. Tiwari said that if the PRO connects directly with the public, the public will like it. Talking about writing well, he said that the ability to write well comes from reading well, so you should read a lot so that you can write well. Tiwari said that the next 25 years are very important. In 2047, when 100 years of independence will be completed, your contribution and role will also be very big in it. The Vice Chancellor said that the Public Relations Officers should work with good intentions and intentions. One should meet people who do very good work in the village, people who do innovation, Sarpanchs and their stories should be conveyed to the people through writing. Talking about writing on subjects directly related to the public such as education, health, agriculture, horticulture, infrastructure etc., he said that whichever district you visit, you must be aware of its history and its specialties.
Additional Director of Public Relations Department Gurmeet Singh Wadhwa said that apart from routine news, public relations officers should try to give unique and different news. Talking about always being alert, he said that if the PRO has to be successful, then coordination with the media is very important. While discussing the improvement in news writing, he said that see the lead and headline of newspapers daily and learn something new from them. Wadhwa said that before social media, the work of the public relations department was from 10 am to 6 pm, but in today’s era, this work has become 24 hours. He said that due to social media, you have to play your role with caution and vigilance. Senior journalist Praveen Dubey said that the Public Relations Officer acts as a bridge between the government and the society. The present era is of social media, hence the role of the PRO has also changed. Earlier publicity was the main work but nowadays responsibilities like crisis management are also being fulfilled. Dubey asked the Public Relations Officers to read cases and be extra cautious while posting anything on the social media. After the inaugural session, in the next session, subject expert CK Sharma provided important information on geographical information, area and population of Madhya Pradesh. Kamlesh Maheshwari expressed his views on the subject of social media management. In the last session, subject expert Manoj Shrivastava provided important information on agricultural development schemes.
