Jindal Steel & Power gets Greentech Award for Agriculture Promotion and Elderly Welfare

Raipur, 17 June 2025: Jindal Steel and Power, a company led by renowned industrialist and Kurukshetra MP Naveen Jindal, has been awarded the Greentech Award-2025 for its outstanding work in the field of “Agricultural Promotion” and “Senior Citizen Welfare”. After evaluation of social work done at the national level, the company was given both these awards for its commendable contribution in both the above areas at an award ceremony held in New Delhi on June 14, which is a reflection of JSP’s comprehensive vision of bringing about a broad and positive change in the society through the Jindal Foundation led by Shalu Jindal. Shalu Jindal, Chairperson of Jindal Foundation, said on this occasion, “We are proud to receive both these Greentech Awards. This honour further strengthens our commitment to spread the flame of development to the last person in the line. Whether it is to provide modern agricultural technology to farmers or to create an environment of pride and respect for the elderly, all our efforts are inspired by the spirit of service. I dedicate this award to my team and the fighting communities with whom we are continuously working.” She also thanked the jury for the honour received in both the fields.
The award received for “Agriculture Promotion” is a recognition of the good work done by Jindal Foundation in promoting farmers in villages and tribal areas. The Foundation has so far trained more than 25,000 farmers in organic farming, water saving irrigation, use of new farming equipment and maintaining good soil health. This increased the crop production of farmers, increased income and also promoted environmental protection. Recently, Shalu Jindal launched a mobile soil testing lab for farmers in Angul district, which is the next step in the mission of natural farming based on Naveen Jindal’s vision. Jindal Foundation’s watershed development project and Bari program have been appreciated at many national forums.
This award for “Senior Citizen Welfare” is a testimony to the fact that Jindal Steel & Power considers it its duty to respect and care for the elderly. Jindal Foundation’s programs like mobile health clinics, day care centers, door-to-door health services and mental health counseling have proved beneficial for thousands of elderly people, especially those living in villages. These initiatives have improved the health, mental balance and social engagement of the elderly. The Foundation is partnering with various NGOs for nutrition and care of needy elderly people and will soon set up a modern old age home by the name of “Jindal Apna Ghar” where senior citizens can lead a dignified and healthy life. Through these two Greentech Awards, JSP and Jindal Foundation have once again proved that their vision of bringing together innovation and inclusion is a driving force for social change in India.
