Raipur 14 June 2025 – The women empowerment schemes run by the Chhattisgarh government have now started giving positive results on the ground. An inspiring example of this is Mrs. Lalmati of Gamhariya village of Jashpur district, who has set an example of self-reliance by taking advantage of various government schemes. With her determination and hard work, she has not only made her own identity, but has also inspired other women of the village.
The life of Mrs. Lalmati is the story of a simple laborer becoming a successful entrepreneur. When she joined the Prajapati Gauri Self-Help Group, she got the benefit of government schemes through the Bihan Yojana. She started a shuttering plate business by getting a loan from the Industry Department and later expanded her business by taking a loan under the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana in January 2025.
Today, Smt. Lalmati has more than 200 shuttering plates, which she provides on rent for roof casting of private buildings and houses under construction under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. From February 2025 till now, she has earned an income of about Rs 35,000 to Rs 40,000 from this business. This figure is constantly increasing as construction work of many houses is going on in the village under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
Expressing gratitude to Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, Smt. Lalmati said that if the government’s schemes were not with her, I would not have been able to reach this position today. The government encouraged us, provided resources and showed us a new path.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai said that it is the determination of our government that women of rural areas should become self-reliant and play a leading role in economic activities. Through schemes like Bihan, Mudra Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, we are not only providing financial support to women, but also providing them training, technical assistance and access to the market. Women like Mrs. Lalmati are symbols of the new socio-economic consciousness of Chhattisgarh. It is the priority of the Chhattisgarh government that every woman should stand on her own feet, live her life with dignity and become an inspiration for others.
