While congratulating tiger lovers on International Tiger Day, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that it is our good fortune that Madhya Pradesh has the highest number of tigers in the country. Bhopal is the only capital in the country where tigers roam freely around its municipal limits. It is a matter of pride that the Cheetah Project is also active in the state, whereas Cheetah is not found anywhere in the whole of Asia. Keeping in view the balance of the ecosystem, the state government will continue to encourage the co-existence of various wild animals in various areas of the state. New tiger reserves will be developed in those areas of the state where there are no tigers. Tiger is the national animal, Madhya Pradesh will also provide tigers to other states for the existence of tigers in all the states. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the state level program organized in Kushabhau Thackeray Auditorium on International Tiger Day. He inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp.
Three books were released and three short films were screened
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav inaugurated the exhibition organized on International Tiger Day and also observed it. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav released three books of the Forest Department namely Voluntary Village Relocation: “The Satpura Model”, “Pench Tiger Behavior Activities Kit-3” and “Kanha Ki Kahaniyaan”. On this occasion, short films focusing on Tiger Warriors, Pench Land of Tiger and Gaur’s rehabilitation were also screened. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also honored forest personnel and officers for excellent work in the conservation of forests and wild animals. On this occasion, Forest Minister Shri Ramniwas Rawat, State Minister for Forests Shri Dilip Ahirwar, State Minister for Backward Classes and Minority Welfare (Independent Charge) Smt. Krishna Gaur were specially present.
Activities continue to settle cheetahs in Gandhi Sagar area
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the Cheetah Project is also active in the state and activities are going on to settle cheetahs in the Gandhi Sagar area as well. He said that the number of tourists is also increasing continuously due to the conservation of wild animals and better management of tiger reserves. There are 7 tiger reserves in the state. The forest generates a revenue of about 60 crore rupees and more than 25 lakh tourists visit the state. The ongoing efforts for the conservation of forests and wildlife under the leadership and guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will help in strengthening the ecosystem and the local economy. He said that efforts should also be initiated for the restoration of extinct wildlife and conservation of various species of snakes.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav honored the officers and forest employees who did excellent work for the conservation of forests and wildlife. In this, Deputy Forest Conservator of Indore, Mrs. Anubha Trivedi, Forest Range Officer of Panna Tiger Reserve Hridayesh Hari Bhargava, Forest Guard of Satpura Tiger Reserve Mr. Nandkishore Ahirwar, Assistant Mahout Neelam Singh of Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve in active wildlife management area, Health Officer of Panna Tiger Reserve Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Gupta, Forest Conservator of Veerangana Durgavati Tiger Reserve Tarachand Gaur, Forest Guard Mohpat Singh Chaudhary of Pench Tiger Reserve, Assistant Forest Conservator Rajesh Mandavlia in wildlife conservation area, Deputy Forest Range Officer of Kanha Tiger Reserve Kuvar Singh Tekam and Forest Guard Rajesh Mehra of Tiger Strike Force Jabalpur were honored.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav honored Deputy Forest Officer of Forest Division Raisen Mr. Sudhir Patel and his team members Pravesh Patidar, Prabhat Yadav, Pritam Singh Jatav, Bhajan Sharma, Lal Singh Purvi, Sarjan Singh Meena, Parasram Malviya, Nitesh Yadav and Shoaib Khan under wildlife rescue category. In this category, Forest Guard of Van Vihar National Park, Mr. Jasman Singh Raghuvanshi was also honored. In the wildlife habitat category, worker of Satpura Tiger Reserve, Mr. Shivji Pita Shri Surju, Forest Guard of Madhav National Park, Mr. Pran Singh Sohare, in the tourism category, Security Worker of Forest Division Dewas, Mr. Jogendra Singh, Acting Forester Mr. Gopal Singh Chauhan and Forest Guard of Van Vihar National Park, Mr. Roop Kumar Mehar were honored. Assistant District Prosecution Officer Chhindwara, Mr. Abhaydeep Singh Thakur, Wildlife Expert of Wild Life Conservation Trust Bhopal, Dr. Prashant Deshmukh and Security Worker of Pench Tiger Reserve, Mr. Manoj Singh Dhurve were also honored by Chief Minister Dr. Yadav.
