The funeral prayer for Hamas’ political chief Ismail Haniyya was read on Thursday morning in Iran’s capital Tehran. The program was led by Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Khamenei read the last prayer for Haniyya’s funeral. According to a report by British media outlet The Sun, Khamenei started crying after seeing Haniyya’s coffin. Ismail Haniyya was killed in an airstrike early Wednesday morning while he was sleeping in a secure military complex north of Iran’s capital Tehran. Haniyya was a guest of Iran, who had gone there to attend the swearing-in ceremony of President Masoud Pezeshkian.
