International news: Houthi rebels attack two ships in the Gulf of Aden

Houthi rebels carried out drone attacks on two ships in a single day. Giving information about the attack, the British Military Maritime Trade Operation (UKMTO) said that this is the latest attack in a campaign by Iran-backed fighters to target ships in support of Hamas following the Hamas-Israel war. UKMTO said the ship was attacked on Tuesday near Yemen’s southern port city of Aden. Security firm Embrey has identified it as a Marshall Islands-flagged and Greek-owned ship coming from the US to India.
According to Ambre, there was a massive explosion 50 meters away from the starboard side of the ship. However, this neither caused damage to the ship’s structure nor resulted in any casualties. After the attack, a military spokesman for the Houthi rebels, Brigadier General Yahya Saari, claimed that rebel forces attacked two ships in the Red Sea, one American and one British. However, the Houthis have not claimed responsibility for the attack on the ship coming to India.
Regarding the attack in the Gulf of Aden, Embrey said that the second attack was carried out on the cargo ship of the British company Morning Tide, which is flying the flag of Barbados. There were no casualties in this attack either. However, the ship is damaged. Taking action against the Houthis, America and Britain had carried out air strikes on 36 of their positions last week.
Resolve to kill the attackers
The US military issued a statement saying that two Houthi drones loaded with explosives had hit the boats. Also said that it is committed to making international sea routes safe for navy and merchant ships. The attackers will be found and destroyed.
