INS Sunayna concluded her visit to Port Louis, Mauritius on 22 June 2024. During the two-day visit, Indian Navy and Mauritius National Coast Guard personnel participated in joint yoga sessions and sports events on the occasion of International Yoga Day.
During the ship’s visit, Commander Prabhat Ranjan Mishra, Commanding Officer of INS Sunayna met Indian High Commissioner K. Nandini Singla and MPF Commissioner of Police Anil Kumar Dip. The interactions highlighted operational cooperation and confidence building measures on various aspects of maritime security. The ship participated in a friendly volleyball match with the Mauritius Coast Guard. At an outreach event held at Gayasingh Ashram, Port Louis, medical check-up of the elderly and distribution of amenities to help the community were carried out. The ship was open to visitors, with over 200 guests on board. The visitors were also given a guided tour of the ship along with an overview of the ship’s capabilities.
After departure from Port Louis, INS Sunayna sailed for the next phase of joint EEZ surveillance off Mauritius. Seamen of MNCG embarked on board the ship for training exchange. INS Sunayna’s visit to Mauritius reaffirms the close bonds of friendship and inter-reciprocity between the two maritime nations.
