Indore Gets Soaked: Rain Continues, Cold Snap Coming Soon
Indore Weather Update After a rainy night on Friday, Indore experienced another heavy downpour today around 9 AM, marking the official start of the rainy season. The weather department had already forecasted rain for today. Yesterday morning, the sun peeked through the clouds, bringing a warm feeling to the city. However, by 9 PM, the weather took a turn, and rain began to fall in various parts of Indore. Many areas, including IT Park Square, Limbodi, Rajendra Nagar, the Airport, and Vijay Nagar, saw heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning. Strong winds also swept through several neighborhoods. Chilly Days Ahead As we approach the end of the year, the cold weather in Indore has mostly faded due to changes in wind direction and rising humidity over the past three days. People venturing out early in the morning or at night are still feeling a bit chilly, but temperatures are expected to drop again after December 29.
Meteorologists explain that a western disturbance is forming over northern Pakistan, while an induced air cyclone is developing around southwest Rajasthan. This cyclone is creating a trough that extends from northern Pakistan to the east-central Arabian Sea. Additionally, jet stream winds are blowing across North India. After December 29, we can expect temperatures in the city to decrease by 2 to 4 degrees. Record Temperatures Interestingly, Thursday night was the warmest of the season for the second night in a row, providing some relief from the cold. On Friday, the minimum temperature recorded was 17.5 degrees Celsius, which is 7 degrees above normal. For context, the minimum temperature on Thursday was 16.9 degrees, while Friday’s maximum temperature reached 27.4 degrees, just 1 degree above normal.
