
Bhopal: With the aim of giving a new direction to India-Ethiopia skill development cooperation, a 10-member high-level delegation from Ethiopia reached Sant Shiromani Ravidas Global Skills Park (SSRGSP) in Bhopal. The delegation had a formal meeting with Minister of State for Skill Development and Employment (Independent Charge) Shri Gautam Tetwal and expressed gratitude for the support received from the Madhya Pradesh government. The delegation visited the campus and observed the high-level training facilities operating here. This visit of the delegation was organized with the aim of establishing a modern, world-class and employment-oriented skill development institute on the lines of SSRGSP in Ethiopia. The delegation included officials from institutions like Ethiopia’s Ministry of Labor and Skills, Bybon Consultants PLC, TNT Construction and Trading and Architecture and Engineering Consultants PLC. The delegation included Alemayehu Woyimo Komibamo, Getinet Tilahun Geda, Amalaku Alebachew Anale, Tesfaye Tilahun Yehulawark, Habtamu Desalegn Siphir, Medhane Gebrehiwot Gebreselassie, Kassahun Mamo Wondimu, Haftom Gebreyesus Qahasay, Assaye Desta Tadesse and Kinfe Tsige Gebregziabher.
International recognition of Sant Shiromani Ravidas Global Skill Park further strengthened – Minister of State Shri Tetwal Minister of State Shri Gautam Tetwal said that this visit of the Ethiopian delegation will further strengthen the international recognition of Sant Shiromani Ravidas Global Skill Park (SSRGSP). There is potential for multi-faceted cooperation between India and Ethiopia in the field of vocational education and skill development, which includes aspects such as training exchanges, sharing of teaching materials, establishment of joint institutes and industry-academia collaboration. MOS Shri Tetwal said that India is organizing training programmes to impart employment-oriented training to Ethiopian youth. India is also providing technical assistance in setting up modern skill institutes in Ethiopia, thereby empowering youth at the local level. MOS Shri Tetwal said that this partnership is an opportunity for India to share its skill development experience, while for countries like Ethiopia, this opportunity is proving to be helpful in making the youth self-reliant and employable. This cooperation will grow even stronger in the coming years and will take bilateral relations to new heights.
