IND vs AUS: Indian Batsmen Struggle Again, Team on the Back Foot in First Session

 

In the first match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at Perth’s Optus Stadium, the Indian team’s batting has once again fallen flat.

In the first three overs, India managed to score just 5 runs, all of which came from extras like byes and no-balls. The first blow came when Yashasvi Jaiswal was dismissed without scoring.Devdutt Padikkal, who came in at number three, also got out without opening his account, caught by wicketkeeper Alex Carey off a delivery from Josh Hazlewood. Earlier, Jaiswal had been sent back to the pavilion by Mitchell Starc. KL Rahul showed some solid defensive play, giving the team hope for a stable innings, but he too couldn’t stay at the crease for long.

From the start, the Indian team faced a series of quick setbacks. Virat Kohli managed only 5 runs off 12 balls before getting out to Hazlewood. Both Jaiswal and Padikkal had already been dismissed without scoring. In just about an hour, India lost three crucial wickets, putting them in a tough spot.The fourth blow came when KL Rahul was dismissed by Starc after scoring 26 runs off 74 balls.

This was a significant turning point for India, as Rahul’s wicket pushed the team into a challenging situation. Now, Dhruv Jurel is at the crease batting at number six, supported by Rishabh Pant. Both players carry a heavy responsibility to build a solid partnership and strengthen India’s score.
