Universal Account Number is now an essential part of Employees Provident Fund. PF account is accessed through UAN. Also, the benefits of the facilities associated with it are available.
UAN is a 12 digit number, which is issued by EPFO. This number does not change even if the job is changed. When a new employee joins EPFO, he is allotted a UAN number.
How to know UAN number from EPFO portal?
If you want to know your UAN, then you can easily see it by visiting the EPFO website. For this you have to follow the steps given below.
Step 1- First of all go to the EPFO website.
Step 2- Then click on ‘Our Services’.
Step 3- After this go to For Employees and click on Online Service.
Step 4- Now you have to enter your mobile number and PF member ID.
Step 5- Click on Get Authorization PIN. After this a PIN will be sent to your mobile number.
Step 6- Now enter the OTP and click on Submit. After this your UAN number will be visible.
What facility is available through UAN
You can transfer the old PF account to the new PF account through UAN.
You can also check your PF account balance through UAN.
UAN is required to withdraw money from PF account.
