Durg- In a case of triple talaq, Durg police took major action and arrested the accused husband Mohammad Raees Khokhar from Bhopal. After the arrest, the police produced him in the court, from where he was sent to jail. The entire matter is now being investigated by the Padmanabhpur police station. According to the information, Reshma Fatima living in Kasaridih had lodged a complaint at the Padmanabhpur police station. Reshma told that she was married to Mohammad Raees of Kasaridih on 16 November 2023 according to Muslim customs. At the time of marriage, Reshma’s mother had gifted 1 lakh 7 thousand 786 rupees cash, gold-silver jewelry and other valuables to the groom’s side.
After Nikah, Reshma first stayed with her husband in Nagpur, Maharashtra and then came to Kasaridih. But within a few days, Raees’s behavior started changing and quarrels started happening over small things. The victim told that on 18 December 2024 her husband Mohammad Raees ended the relationship by saying ‘talaq’ to her three times without any concrete reason. After this Raees married another girl. On Reshma’s complaint, the police registered a case under section 4 of the law related to Muslim marriage. Investigation revealed that the accused was hiding in TP Nagar area of Bhopal. After this, the police team immediately went there and caught him and sent him to jail after completing all the legal proceedings.
