Has Vaibhav Suryavanshi Faked His Age? Father Issues a Bold Challenge

IPL 2025: In the recent IPL 2025 mega auction, the youngest player, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, has found himself at the center of an age controversy, prompting a significant statement from his father. The mega auction for IPL 2025 has concluded, and many players saw their fortunes change. Among them, Vaibhav Suryavanshi was a standout name that caught everyone’s attention. Vaibhav, the youngest player in the auction, was bought by the Rajasthan Royals for ₹1.10 crore. His joining the team brought immense joy to his family. However, this happiness was soon overshadowed by questions regarding his age. In response to the controversy, Vaibhav’s father, Sanjeev Suryavanshi, has issued a bold challenge to those questioning his son’s age.

In a special interview with Abhijit Sen from India.com, Sanjeev stated, “His dream is to play for India in the next few years, and we believe he can achieve that.” He further mentioned, “An official from Rajasthan Royals called me and said, ‘We have selected Vaibhav for the team, and it’s now our responsibility to help him become a great cricketer. Your son impressed us during the trials, and we see incredible talent in him, and we are ready to support his development.’”

Addressing the age controversy, Sanjeev said, “Vaibhav is currently 13 years and 8 months old. When he plays for India next, he will undergo a bone test, and then the truth will come out. You can see Vaibhav’s pictures on my Facebook profile, Sanjeev Suryavanshi. Over the past few years, he has grown rapidly, but before that, he looked just like a small child. Vaibhav also underwent a bone test while playing in an under-16 match, where he was kept on standby due to his age. Questions about his age will continue, but when he plays for India or in the IPL, everything will be clear. Vaibhav is not bothered by this controversy and is focused on his game.”
