Hareli festival in Chief Minister’s residence: Sai worshipped Gauri-Ganesh, Navgrah and anointed Lord Shiva

Raipur, 24 July 2025: On the first festival of Chhattisgarhi folk culture “Hareli”, Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai today worshipped Gauri-Ganesh, Navgraha and anointed Lord Shiva at his residence office in the capital. For the first time in the worship of Hareli in the Chief Minister’s residence, Bhilai graduate Ms. Dhanishtha Sharma, along with her elder brother Divya Sharma, chanted mantras in the anointment of Lord Shiva, which impressed all the guests present including Chief Minister Say and his family members. Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma, Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, Agriculture Minister Ram Vichar Netam, Women and Child Development Minister Laxmi Rajwade and Revenue Minister Tank Ram Verma also participated in the worship of Hareli. Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai inaugurated the Hareli festival by duly worshiping the plough, Rapa, hoe and other agricultural equipment used in farming. On this occasion, Chief Minister Sai wished happiness and prosperity to all the people of Chhattisgarh including the farmers of the state.
Chief Minister Sai fed traditional Londi and green fodder to the cow and calf with the message of livestock conservation. On this occasion, he wished the people of the state on Hareli festival. Chief Minister Sai said that Hareli festival is not only a festival of farmers, but it also reflects our deep relationship with nature, environment and livestock. On this day, there is a tradition of feeding Londi prepared from wheat flour, salt and castor leaves to cows and other cattle. It is believed that this protects animals from many types of diseases and keeps them healthy. The Chief Minister said that in the culture of Chhattisgarh, animals are considered members of the family. This festival of Hareli inspires us to express gratitude towards livestock and take a pledge to protect them. The Chief Minister appealed to the people of the state to connect with their traditions and give priority to the care and protection of livestock. On this occasion organised at the Chief Minister’s residence, a live glimpse of the traditional Chhattisgarhi environment and worship system along with folk culture was seen.
