Harak Singh Rawat Takes a Sharp Jibe – Who Is He Targeting and Why?

Senior Congress leader and former minister Harak Singh Rawat is once again making headlines with his statement. This time, he took a direct jab at BJP state president Mahendra Bhatt, mocking him in a sharp remark. Harak said, “He has received more than his age and experience warrant, and that’s why the situation is like this.” Taking his criticism a step further, he added, “If you put a cap on a monkey’s head, it starts dancing. Such mistakes happen sometimes…” However, he also clarified that he wasn’t making any personal remarks. Reflecting on his own journey, Rawat recalled how he became a minister in Uttar Pradesh at the young age of 27 in 1992. He shared an anecdote about how, as a minister, senior officers would address him as “Sir,” and for a while, it went to his head. But on December 6, when the government unexpectedly collapsed, reality hit him hard. He suddenly found himself without power, and even his government driver dropped him off at Kalyan Singh’s residence before driving away. Left stranded, he had to take a taxi home. “That day, I truly realized my actual worth,” he admitted.

Rawat also warned about the deceptive nature of power, saying, “If an officer keeps calling you ‘Sir, Sir,’ he’ll eventually make you disappear.” He explained that having gained such experiences at a young age, he no longer feels upset even though he is not in the government now. He further criticized the Dhami government, stating that the cabinet lacks maturity and experience, which is why unnecessary conflicts are arising both inside and outside the assembly.
