Grand Celebrations at Ayodhya's Ram Temple: Marking 500 Years with Joyous Ram Navami Festivities
Today, thousands of people gathered at Ayodhya’s Ram Temple to celebrate Ram Navami, a festival dedicated to Lord Rama. This celebration is particularly special because it’s the first time in 500 years that Ram Navami is being celebrated at the newly consecrated Ram temple. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also extended his greetings, highlighting the joyous occasion for Ayodhya. The main event, called ‘Surya Abhishek’, will happen around midday, where the Sun’s rays will create a special mark on the forehead of the idol of Ram Lalla. Devotees began their day by taking a holy dip in the Saryu River before visiting the temple. The temple trust has arranged for various offerings and bhog prasad to be presented to Ram Lalla. Special arrangements have been made for security and crowd management, ensuring a smooth experience for devotees. Scientists and experts are overseeing the event, ensuring the success of the ‘Surya Abhishek’. PM Modi’s suggestion to align the temple in a way that the sun rays fall directly on the idol during Ram Navami has been implemented, adding to the significance of the celebration. Temporary and permanent canopies have been set up to provide shade and help booths have been placed for assistance. The duration of darshan has been extended to accommodate the increased number of visitors, providing ample time for devotees to pay their respects. Overall, it’s a day filled with joy, devotion, and celebration in Ayodhya as devotees come together to honor Lord Rama.
