Government has taken effective steps for the prosperity and betterment of farmers: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav

Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that the state government has taken effective steps for the betterment and prosperity of farmers. The central and state governments are providing various facilities to farmers, including expansion of irrigation facilities, big subsidy on agricultural solar pumps to save electricity bills, special promotion of agriculture-based industries and subsidy for animal husbandry and dairy. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was virtually addressing the Kisan Samman Samaroh organized on Balram Jayanti in Gwalior on Thursday from Bhopal Government Airport. On this occasion, he congratulated and wished everyone on the birth anniversary of Haldhar Bhagwan Balram, the god of agriculture. He also thanked Nandlal Bal Kalyan Samiti for organizing the event. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that in the last one and a quarter years, more than 7 lakh hectares of irrigation area has increased in the state, whereas in the year 2003, only about 7.5 lakh hectares of irrigation was done in the state. Thus, the government has provided the same irrigation facility in the last one and a quarter years as the area of irrigation in the state after independence. He said that after 2003, a total of 44 lakh hectares of irrigation area has been increased in the state. This is continuously increasing. In the same sequence, the Ken-Betwa and Parvati-Kali Sindh-Chambal river linking project is leading to revolutionary expansion of irrigation facilities in a large part of the state including Bundelkhand and Gwalior-Chambal division.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the government is providing all facilities to the farmers to reduce the cost of farming. The government is giving up to 90 percent subsidy on 10 and 5 horse power solar pumps to save farmers from huge electricity bills. He said that the government is providing agricultural loan without interest to the farmers for farming. Also, this year the government has purchased wheat at the highest support price in the country at Rs 2600 per quintal. This will be increased further in the coming year. Napier grass will be planted in ravines and industries will also be developed. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the government will plant Napier grass in the ravines. Along with this, efforts will also be made to develop agriculture based industries. The government is also organizing farmer fairs on a large scale to provide advanced agricultural technology and agricultural equipment to the farmers. In this sequence, a mega farmer fair will be organized in Morena soon, which will benefit the farmers of Gwalior-Chambal region. He appreciated the large scale sowing of super seeder and training of drone sisters in Gwalior district. He also said that both the governments are continuously working under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for the prosperity of farmers. On the lines of Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi, the state government is also running the Chief Minister Kisan Kalyan Yojana. Through these two schemes, 10 thousand rupees are reaching the account of every farmer every year. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that in order to promote agriculture based industries, the government is giving special incentives to pulse factories by reducing tax on pulses. He also informed about the incentives being given by the government for increasing milk production and stubble management.
If farmers are prosperous, the country will also be prosperous: Agriculture Minister Shri Kanshana Agriculture Development and Farmers Welfare Minister Shri Aidal Singh Kanshana said that if farmers are prosperous, the country will also be prosperous. With this feeling, the Central and State Governments are working in the interest of farmers under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. He said that there has been a revolutionary expansion in the irrigation area in the state. Shri Kanshana assured on this occasion that the government will not allow shortage of fertilizers in any district and tehsil of the state. If there is a complaint of shortage of fertilizers, the availability of fertilizers will be ensured within 12 hours. Create a good environment for the new generation together: Energy Minister Shri Tomar Energy Minister Shri Pradyuman Singh Tomar congratulated everyone on Balram Jayanti and Farmers’ Day and said that the message of all our idols is that we should create a good environment for the present as well as the future, so that our new generation can move forward on the path of progress by becoming cultured. He called upon all of us to accomplish this task together.
The program coordinator and former Chairman of Seed and Farm Development Corporation, Shri Mahendra Singh Yadav gave the welcome address. He also informed that since 2006, Kisan Diwas is being celebrated on Balram Jayanti in Gwalior. In the beginning, the guests inaugurated the Kisan Samman Samaroh by lighting a lamp in front of the picture of Lord Balram. A large number of farmers including Vice Chancellor of Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Agricultural University, Prof. Arvind Kumar Shukla, Municipal Corporation Chairman Shri Manoj Tomar, public representatives and Chairman of Nandlal Bal Kalyan Samiti, Shri Roop Singh Rajput were present in the program. The program was conducted by the country’s well-known poet Shri Shashikant Yadav “Shashi”.
