Finance Minister inaugurated the regional conference organized on good governance

Raipur. 21 November 2024: Good governance is an important factor for development. This not only leads to systematic development of the country, but it also improves the lives of the citizens. Innovations like Swachh Bharat Mission, Jal Jeevan Mission, GST, JAM Portal, Digital Inclusion started on the initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi have brought about a big change in the country. Finance Minister O.P. Choudhary expressed these views while inaugurating the regional conference on good governance organized by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances of the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions and the Department of Good Governance and Convergence of the Government of Chhattisgarh in Nava Raipur today. Officers of the Indian Administrative Service and Central Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions Ministry from across the country including Chhattisgarh are discussing the innovations, best practices and people-oriented works being done for good governance in the conference.
Addressing the inaugural session of the two-day regional conference organized on citizen-centric good governance, Finance Minister O.P. Choudhary said that bureaucrats will play an important role in making India a 55 trillion dollar economy by the year 2047. He told the IAS officers from various states participating in the conference that for good governance, innovation and change, one has to transform oneself so that there is no erosion in your talent and personality. Only those who change themselves with time will remain relevant. Choudhary said that India’s economy is growing rapidly. With the leadership and good governance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India will emerge as the third largest economy of the world with an economy of 55 trillion dollars by the year 2047.
Finance Minister Choudhary said in the conference that many collectors and officers are doing effective innovations. We are delivering better citizen services as per the time and needs of our area. He said that today all the officers need to acquire expertise in their field of work, only then welfare initiatives can be effectively delivered to the citizens. He said that in the coming times, states like Chhattisgarh will play an important role in India’s growing economy. The outlook towards Chhattisgarh will change rapidly under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai. He expressed hope that the state officials will also be inspired by the discussions on innovations, best practices and good governance works to be held in the conference for two days and will take initiative to implement them here.
Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain, while addressing the inaugural session of the conference, said that good governance is successful only when we are able to bring smiles on the faces of those for whom we are working. If your beneficiaries are satisfied with your work, then that is the success of good governance. Good intentions are most important for successfully delivering schemes and programs to the targeted people for good governance. Giving many examples like formation of various development authorities in Chhattisgarh, canal linking road in Raipur, construction of expressway, he said that many innovations are also happening here in governance and administration. Keeping in view the regional and local needs, works for the welfare of the people are being done accordingly.
Additional Secretary, Central Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances Department, Puneet Yadav, in the inaugural session, gave information about the innovations being done by the department for redressal of personnel and public grievances. He told that complaints are being resolved rapidly using many digital platforms. Innovations, best practices and good governance works happening in different parts of the country are being highlighted and rewarded at the national level.
In today’s first session, different innovations happening in four states were shared. Director General of Indian Institute of Public Administration, S.N. Tripathi chaired this session. Director of Jal Jeevan Mission in Uttar Pradesh, Anurag Srivastava explained in detail about the successful solar based water supply schemes there. He said that solar based water supply schemes will save one lakh crore rupees in Uttar Pradesh in the next 30 years. These schemes will also reduce carbon emissions. Collector of Koraput district of Odisha, Mr. V. Kirti Vasan informed about the innovation being done to provide employment to local people through rural industrial complex. Nagaland IAS officer Mr. Thavasilan shared the innovation of Nagaland Health Security Society and Chief Minister Health Insurance Scheme in his state. Through these, cashless health insurance facility is being provided to the people there and even outside the state. Deputy Commissioner of Revenue Department in Madhya Pradesh, Ms. Alka Singh introduced the officials to the innovation related to cyber tehsil started there from the month of February. Online registration and instant transfer of land is being done through ‘Sampada’ portal there. Revenue matters are being resolved quickly with the use of modern technologies. After digitization of land records in the state, 13 tehsildars have been given land records. There are 1364 revenue courts operating.
