Gold rises by Rs 300 to Rs 81,400 per 10 grams on Dhanteras
The price of gold in the national capital on Tuesday rose by Rs 300 to Rs 81,400 per 10 grams due to increased demand from jewelers and retailers on Dhanteras, which is a record high so far.
According to the All India Sarafa Association, silver rose by Rs 200 to Rs 99,700 per kg due to increased demand from industrial units and coin makers. Earlier on Monday, silver had closed at Rs 99,500 per kg.
Experts said – emphasis was on buying silver coins instead of gold coins
Traders said that they are preferring silver coins for symbolic purchase, ignoring the traditional purchase of gold at the current level. Apart from this, gold of 99.5 percent purity jumped by Rs 300 to an all-time high of Rs 81,000 per 10 grams.
On Monday, the precious metal of 99.9 per cent and 99.5 per cent purity had closed at Rs 81,100 and Rs 80,700 per 10 gram. In futures trading on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the price of gold contract for December delivery rose by Rs 178, or 0.23 per cent, to Rs 78,744 per 10 gram.
