Four MoUs signed with power companies of Madhya Pradesh at Global Investors Summit

Bhopal: Four important Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed for the power sector of Madhya Pradesh on February 24 at the Global Investors Summit-2025. The MoUs were signed in the presence of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, Energy Minister Shri Pradyuman Singh Tomar, Additional Chief Secretary Energy Shri Neeraj Mandloi, Managing Director of MP Power Management Company Shri Avinash Lavania and Managing Director of Power Generating Company Manjeet Singh. The MoUs were signed with NTPC Green Energy Limited, Rural Electrification Corporation (REC), NTPC Nuclear and Power Finance Corporation (PFC).

Energy Minister Shri Pradyuman Singh Tomar said that in the presence of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, a Memorandum of Understanding of Rs 21 thousand crore was signed between Rural Electrification Corporation (REC) and Power Management Company. This agreement will start a new chapter in the energy sector of Madhya Pradesh, which will improve power distribution in the state and strengthen the availability of electricity in rural areas. He said that the efforts made by our government in the energy sector will lead Madhya Pradesh towards self-reliance and progress.

REC has agreed to provide financial support of Rs 21 thousand crore for the next five years as part of its ongoing commitment to develop power infrastructure in Madhya Pradesh. This agreement is an essential step towards enhancing the power sector of Madhya Pradesh, ensuring efficient power supply and promoting renewable energy in the state. The MoU was signed by Managing Director Avinash Lavania on behalf of MP Power Management and Executive Director Rahul Dwivedi on behalf of REC.

NTPC Green-Madhya Pradesh Power Generating Company Limited (MPPGCL) and NTPC Green Energy Limited signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to set up renewable energy projects of 20 GW or more in Madhya Pradesh. The MoU was signed by MD Manjeet Singh on behalf of the power generating company and General Manager Soumyakanta Chaudhary on behalf of NTPC Green Energy.

NTPC Nuclear- a Maharatna Public Sector Undertaking and India’s largest power utility company NTPC Limited signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Madhya Pradesh (GoMP). The objective of the MoU is to explore the possibility of developing a total of six nuclear power projects of suitable capacity in the state of Madhya Pradesh. This landmark collaboration is expected to result in an investment of around Rs. 80 thousand crores in Madhya Pradesh, which will potentially transform the energy infrastructure of the state and contribute to India’s ambitious goals for clean and sustainable energy generation. The MoU was signed by Sanjeev Khare, Chief General Manager, MP Power Management Company and Prasenjit Pal, Executive Director on behalf of NTPC.

PFC-Power Finance Corporation Limited (PFC) has committed to provide financial assistance to power utilities of Madhya Pradesh. This also includes MP Power Management Company Limited (MPPMCL). A total of Rs 26,800 crore of financial assistance will be provided for the next five years covering capital expenditure (capex) and operational requirements. This agreement will provide a formal framework, enabling effective implementation of Restructured Distribution Area Scheme (RDSS) and other related projects. This will ensure improvement in power supply system and reliability for the citizens of Madhya Pradesh. This MoU was signed by Additional Chief General Manager Gurdeep Singh Khanuja on behalf of Power Management Company and Executive Director RK Chaturvedi on behalf of PFC.
