As the summer holidays begin, the number of passengers in trains has increased. People are traveling by making reservations for holidays. This is the reason why more than 50 percent tickets are being booked in trains from the total capacity. Passengers are entering the sleeper coaches of trains by taking waiting tickets from the reservation window. Due to this, the condition of sleeper coaches of trains has become worse than that of general ones. Up to 200 passengers can fit in a coach with a capacity of 72 berths. The same situation prevails in most of the trains passing through Gwalior. On an average, 125 trains from New Delhi and Bhopal pass through Gwalior every day. Most long distance trains have more AC coaches than sleepers. Most of these long distance trains passing through Gwalior have more tickets booked than their capacity till June 20. Till the day of journey, hardly 10 to 12 tickets among the waiting tickets get confirmed. Due to this, in many trains, passengers with waiting tickets are seen traveling by sitting on the floor in the coach and lying in the gallery. Many passengers are traveling standing near the toilet in the gallery. On an average, 50 thousand passengers travel from Gwalior every day. Due to school holidays in the month of May, crowding in trains has started increasing. Due to this, it is becoming difficult for passengers to board sleeper coaches also. Apart from confirmed tickets, most of the passengers cannot be deboarded from the coach as they have waiting tickets. Due to this, apart from waiting tickets, passengers with confirmed berths are also having to struggle a lot to get their berths.
