Farmers should get the best fertilizers and seeds for Rabi on time: APC Suleman
Bhopal. It should be ensured that farmers get the best fertilizers and seeds for Rabi crops on time. There is adequate availability of all fertilizers in the state. NPK is of the same quality as DAP. It has all the necessary nutrients for crops. Farmers should not burn stubble, use super seeder. It should be ensured that there is no illegal storage, black marketing or substandard sale of fertilizers and seeds anywhere in the state. Every necessary facility should be made available to the farmers for the sale of soybean at the support price.
APC Mohammad Suleman gave these instructions in the review meeting held today at Narmada Bhawan for the review of Kharif-2024 and preparations for Rabi 2024-25 for Bhopal and Narmadapuram divisions. In the meeting, the works of departments like Agriculture, Cooperatives, Animal Husbandry, Dairy, Fisheries, Horticulture etc. were reviewed. Additional Chief Secretary Cooperation Ashok Barnwal, Principal Secretary Fisheries D.P. Ahuja, Principal Secretary Horticulture Anupam Rajan, Secretary Agriculture M. Selvendran, Divisional Commissioner Bhopal Shri Sanjeev Singh, Divisional Commissioner Narmadapuram K.G. Tiwari, Collectors of the concerned districts, Chief Executive Officer District Panchayat and concerned departmental officers were present. Successful beneficiaries of various schemes also shared their experiences in the meeting.
APC Shri Suleman said that the work of registration of farmers for purchase of soybean at support price is going on in the state. Soybean will be purchased from 25 October, which will continue till 31 December. Ensure all necessary arrangements at the purchase centers. Farmers should be given tokens for soybean purchase, so that they do not have to wait unnecessarily. For the convenience of farmers, additional centers will be opened in a day or two as per requirement. The parameters set by the government should be used in the purchase.
Secretary Agriculture Shri Selvendran said that Madhya Pradesh is the leading state of the country in the field of agriculture. Madhya Pradesh is first in the country with 24 percent production in the production of pulses. It ranks second in the country with 12% production of grains and second in oilseeds production with 20% production. The agricultural growth rate of the state is 19 percent. Organic farming is done in the highest area of 16.5 lakh hectares in Madhya Pradesh in the country. He informed that there is adequate availability of fertilizers in the state for Rabi 2024-25. A total of 16.43 lakh metric tonnes of fertilizer is available in the state for Rabi, in which 6.88 urea, 1.38 DAP, 2.70 NPK, 4.08 DAP + NPK, 4.86 SSP and 0.61 lakh metric tonnes of MOP fertilizer is available. Under Rabi crops in the state, mustard is mainly sown from 15 October to 15 November in Chambal and Gwalior divisions, gram, lentil from 20 October to 10 November in Ujjain, Indore, Bhopal, Sagar divisions, wheat from 1 November to 30 November in Ujjain, Indore, Bhopal, Chambal, Sagar, Narmadapuram and wheat and gram crops are sown from 15 November to 31 December in Jabalpur, Rewa and Shahdol divisions.
APC Shri Suleman directed all the collectors to ensure that stubble is not burnt in their districts. Farmers should be encouraged to use super seeder. With its use, sowing is done along with harvesting of the crop. With this, the remaining moisture in the fields is used in the next crop, less seeds are required and the crop comes earlier, which is very beneficial for the farmers. Ensure the availability of super seeder machine to farmers in all the districts.
Additional Chief Secretary Cooperative Mr. Ashok Barnwal directed that ensure that farmers are given the benefit of the government’s crop loan scheme at zero percent interest for Rabi crops in all districts. “One Stop Centers” should be made in every district, where farmers can get all the facilities. Recovery of short term loans should be increased at the committee level. Action should also be taken against those primary cooperative societies which are not working properly. He directed that the work of audit of PACS should be completed by October and action should be taken to form new PACS. It was told that under the Loan Mahotsav, non-agricultural loans are being distributed to farmers till 6 November.
In the review of the Fisheries Department, Principal Secretary D.P. Ahuja informed that Madhya Pradesh has 4.42 lakh hectares of water area, out of which 99% area is used for fish farming. 2595 fishermen committees are registered in the state, with which 95417 fish farmers are associated. Per capita fish availability in Madhya Pradesh is 7.5 kg. The state’s first integrated aquapark is located at Bhadbhada Road, Bhopal. The main schemes in the state are Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana, Mukhyamantri Machhua Samridhi Yojana and Fisherman Credit Card Yojana. Instructions for achieving the targets set in all the schemes were given by the Agriculture Production Commissioner. Fishermen farmers should be motivated to use new techniques of fish farming.
