Extreme heat in five states including Delhi, red alert of heat wave

The mercury is rising in the northwestern plains including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan. The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert of extreme heat and severe heat wave for five days. The average maximum temperature in these five states on Monday crossed 45 degrees.

According to the Meteorological Department, due to severe heat wave for the next five days, the day will start getting scorching from morning itself, life will be affected. There are chances of heat wave for five days in Madhya Pradesh, Odisha and Gujarat also. The mercury will rise by two to three degrees. The maximum temperature is expected to reach 47 degrees. Although it rained in some parts of Himachal Pradesh on Monday, the school timings were changed in view of the heat wave alert.
