England's fast bowler James Anderson announces retirement
England’s fast bowler James Anderson announced his retirement from cricket. The veteran bowler will play his last match against West Indies at Lord’s in July. This test match will be held from 10 to 14 July. 41-year-old James made his Test debut on 22 May 2003 against Zimbabwe. He has taken 700 wickets in 187 test matches. James Anderson is the first fast bowler to take so many wickets. He had created this record by dismissing Kuldeep Yadav in the Dharamsala Test match this year.
James Anderson wrote on Instagram post
The England bowler wrote on his Instagram post about retirement that this summer’s Test at Lord’s will be my last Test. To represent your country in that game. Which I liked since childhood. It’s been an incredible 20 years for me. I will miss playing for England. Now is the time to step away from this game and give others a chance.
James Anderson wrote, ‘I couldn’t have done this without the love and support of Danielle, Lola, Ruby and my parents. Many thanks to him. Also thanks to those players and coaches who made it the best in the world. James further wrote that I am excited for the new challenges ahead.
