Encroachment on government land will no longer be tolerated in Uttarakhand: CM Pushkar Singh Dhami gave strict instructions

Uttarakhand’s Crackdown on Land Encroachment: A New Era of Zero Tolerance-Uttarakhand’s Chief Minister, Pushkar Singh Dhami, has declared a zero-tolerance policy towards illegal land occupation. This decisive move aims to reclaim encroached government lands and prevent future encroachments. A multi-pronged approach is being implemented to achieve this goal.
Joint Task Force to Tackle Encroachments-A significant step involves forming joint teams across all districts. These teams, comprising members from irrigation, public works, forest, and revenue departments, will work collaboratively to identify and remove illegal encroachments. The focus will be on areas, particularly plains, where such activities are prevalent, ensuring continuous monitoring.
Protecting Riverbanks: A Priority-The government is prioritizing the removal of encroachments along the banks of major rivers. Immediate action is targeted at the Ganga (Haridwar), Kosi (Nainital), and Kalyani (Rudrapur) riverbanks. This initiative is crucial not only to safeguard public property but also to maintain environmental balance and prevent ecological damage.
Strict Action Against Fraudulent Land Grabbing-The government is taking a tough stance against individuals attempting to seize land using forged documents or fraudulent means. Strict legal action will be taken against those found guilty, and new systems are being developed to verify the authenticity of land documents and prevent future fraudulent activities.
Enhanced Verification of Outsiders-To bolster security and prevent illegal activities, stricter verification procedures for outsiders are being implemented. The Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) has reported that a comprehensive 18-point verification process is underway, collecting data at the state level to monitor external activities and identify any undesirable elements.
A New Chapter for Uttarakhand: Encroachment-Free-This comprehensive campaign signals a significant step towards an encroachment-free Uttarakhand. By combining coordinated efforts across departments and leveraging technology, the government aims to effectively curb illegal land sales, forged documents, and unauthorized occupations. This initiative will not only protect government property but also strengthen law and order in the state.
