E-KYC mandatory by June 30 under “One Nation, One Ration Card” scheme

Raipur 19 June 2025: Under the “One Nation One Ration Card” scheme of the Government of India, Aadhaar authentication based food distribution is being ensured in the state of Chhattisgarh. To implement this process smoothly, it is mandatory to complete e-KYC of the family members of all ration card holders associated with the Public Distribution System (PDS). At present, 81.56 lakh ration cards are in circulation in Chhattisgarh, in which 2.73 crore members are registered. Of these, e-KYC of 2.35 crore members has been completed, while e-KYC of about 38 lakh members is pending. Children below 5 years of age have been exempted from e-KYC by the Government of India.

Food Secretary Smt. Reena Kangale informed that e-KYC facility is available through e-POS machines in all fair price shops of the state. Along with this, through the “Mera e-KYC” mobile application developed by the Government of India, beneficiaries can do their own e-KYC from home using their smartphones. To do e-KYC through Mera e-KYC app, download the app from Google Play Store in Android mobile, select the state, enter your Aadhaar number and do face e-KYC through Aadhaar OTP. He has appealed to all ration card holders to get their and all family members’ e-KYC completed mandatorily before the last date of 30 June 2025, so that there is no inconvenience in food grain distribution.
