Bhopal. The English Language Teaching Institute (ELTI) in the state is making continuous efforts for the training of English language teachers working in government schools. This institute working under the School Education Department is continuously running a one-year PG Diploma in Teaching English course. This diploma course is affiliated to Barkatullah University Bhopal.
This course has a provision for training teachers working in government higher, higher and secondary schools under the state’s School Education Department and Tribal Affairs Department. In this course, subjects related to methodology, teaching methods of English language, grammar, phonetics, linguistics and teaching material are being taught. Since it is in-service training, practice teaching work is also done in schools by the trainees for practice lessons. Teachers trained from this institute are able to work effectively for the improvement of the English language of children in their schools. After training, teachers are also provided with certificates and book kits.
Specialty of the Institute
With a view to bring qualitative development in the upgradation of English language teaching, teacher training and preparation of study material, English Language Teaching Institute (ELTI) is working at the State Education Centre in Arera Hills, Bhopal at the state level. The institute was established in the year 1964. This institute is also continuously working for the improvement of English language of teachers working in rural and tribal areas. This institute is also taking continuous support from English and Foreign Languages University (EFL-U) Hyderabad for continuous upgradation and quality development in the field of teaching.
