Dhanashree Verma and Yuzvendra Chahal Divorce Decision: What You Need to Know

The much-anticipated decision regarding the divorce of Dhanashree Verma and Yuzvendra Chahal is set to be announced today in a family court in Mumbai. The High Court has expedited the process, allowing the couple to move forward with their separation, as they have mutually agreed to part ways. This development comes after a period of speculation and rumors surrounding their divorce settlement.
Clarifying the Alimony Amount
Recent reports have shed light on the alimony Dhanashree is expected to receive, putting to rest previous rumors that suggested she would be awarded ₹60 crores. In reality, the amount agreed upon is ₹4.75 crores. Out of this, Chahal has already paid ₹2.37 crores, with the remaining balance to be settled after the court’s final decision. This revelation effectively dismisses the exaggerated claims regarding the alimony. Dhanashree’s family had previously stated that the ₹60 crores figure was merely a rumor, asserting that they had neither demanded such an amount nor received any offers. This led many to believe that since they were parting amicably, no financial settlement would be made. However, the family’s statement was somewhat misleading, as they did not disclose that part of the agreed amount had already been paid.
The Background of Their Separation
Dhanashree and Chahal have been living separately for the past two and a half years. Although they informed the court of their separation, the family court initially suggested a six-month cooling-off period for reconciliation. This prompted them to approach the Bombay High Court, which has now set March 20 as the date for the final decision.
