Deputy Chief Minister planted a tree in the name of mother in Gajrajbandh Boriyakhurd
Raipur . Today, the state’s Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Urban Administration and Development Arun Sao, along MLA, Raipur Rural Motilal Sahu, planted a peepal sapling under the “ek ped maa k naam” campaign in Ward 54 of Zone 10 in Boriyakhurdh, Gajrajbāndh. The Deputy Chief Minister inspected the proposed beautification, conservation and development plan spanning approximately 106 acres of Gajrajbāndh, emphasizing environmental sustainability. He assured swift implementation of the proposed project, including the expedited construction of a pond and its beautification.
Mr. Sao and Mr. Sahu planted a peepal sapling during the event, joined by Raipur Municipal Corporation’s Commissioner Shri. Abinash Mishra. Mr. Sao urged all citizens to join hands in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s nationwide initiative to secure and nurture trees planted in honor of mothers, pledging to protect and care for them like their own children.
Mr. Sao discussed the proposed plan for the enhancement, conservation and beautification of Gajrajbāndh pond in Boriyakhurdh with Mr. Abinash Mishra of the Raipur Municipal Corporation, reviewing the plan’s drawings. The plan for environmental conservation in the social interest, covering approximately 106 acres of government land managed by the Irrigation Department, involves various beautification projects like pathways around the pond for morning and evening walks, pond cleaning and deepening, lighting, installation of garden benches for public meetings, construction of embankments for pond security, and other aesthetic improvements.
The planned implementation will naturally facilitate the conservation and enhancement of groundwater natural resources in the area. Mr. Sao reiterated his commitment to expedite the work for the conservation, beautification and development of Gajrajbāndh pond in Boriyakhurdh, underscoring the importance of environmental conservation from a societal standpoint.
The event was attended by, Mr. Chandrashekhar Nirmalkar councillor’s representative of Comrade Sudhir Mukherjee Ward, Representative Green Army of Raipur Mr. Amitabh Dubey, Mr. Keshav Sahu, President of Raipur District Sahu Association, Mr. P.K. Sahu, Chairman of Gajrajbāndh Conservation Committee, Zone 10 Commissioner Mr. Ramesh Jaiswall, Executive Engineer Mr. Dinesh Sinha, Assistant Engineer Mr. Fatehlal Sahu, various social organizations, volunteers, officials, employees, dignitaries, social workers and numerous citizens who planted nearly 100 saplings in secure locations, ensuring their protection and care until they grow into trees.
The program was chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Shr. Arun Sao and chaired by MLA Shri. Motilal Sahu, Raipur Rural, As part of the Peepal for Peepal initiative, approximately 100 saplings of Peepal, Neem, Sandalwood and other species were planted along the shores of Gajrajbāndh pond through Raipur Municipal Corporation Zone Number 10, ensuring tree guard protection in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s environmental conservation initiative under the guidance of Chief Minister Shri. Vishnu Deo Sai and Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Urban Administration and Development Shri. Arun Sao.
