Dashomati is helping the villagers by providing Bank Sakhi services in rural areas

Raipur. Dashomati Kashyap, a resident of Dhuragaon in Lohandiguda block of Bastar district, joined Gayatri Mahila Self-Help Group in 2017. Dashomati’s aim of joining the group was to do something big by combining small savings. Dashomati, who has completed her graduation, has a husband working in the police department who always boosts Dashomati’s morale and supports her decision. Dashomati said that after coming in contact with Bihaan through the group, I came to know about the BC Sakhi Yojana, which made me feel that this is a work in which I can provide support and convenience to the rural and elderly by providing banking services. Along with this, I can also earn some extra income for myself. Therefore, in January 2018, she became BC Sakhi of Chhattisgarh State Rural Bank, in which she was entrusted with the responsibility of providing BC Sakhi services in four Gram Panchayats of Lohandiguda area, Usribeda, Dhuragaon, Chhindgaon and Kodebeda.

Dashomati tells that through banking kiosk, she has provided the benefit of account opening, money deposit and withdrawal, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti and Suraksha Bima Yojanas to the villagers and in the last 5 years she has done transactions of more than 5 crore rupees and has done more than 20 thousand transactions, which have benefited about 10 thousand MNREGA workers and more than 5 thousand pension beneficiaries.

Dashomati also works for CSC, in which she has made 2000 Ayushman cards, 1000 e-Shram cards, 30 PAN cards etc. and also pays electricity bills. Apart from this, she has earned an additional income of about 5 thousand rupees by providing CSC’s tele-law service in rural areas. Currently, Dashomati earns about 6 to 7 thousand rupees by earning 4 thousand rupees from her Bank Sakhi work and 2 thousand rupees from her CSC work per month and says that because of Bihaan, she is providing banking services as well as CSC services to the rural people.
