Courtesy visit by Secretary, Land Resources, Government of India to Chief Minister Sai

Detailed discussion on land record reform, digital survey and quick resolution of cases in revenue courts
Raipur, 15 July 2025 l Secretary, Land Resources Department, Government of India, Mr. Manoj Joshi paid a courtesy visit to Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai today at his office located in the Vidhan Sabha premises. On this occasion, detailed discussions were held on strengthening the land record system, use of technological innovations in land survey, and quick resolution of pending cases in revenue courts. Revenue Minister Mr. Tankaram Verma was also present in the meeting.
Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai said that the state government is working with full commitment to update land revenue documents and make necessary improvements. He said that the more organized the revenue records are, the quicker and more effective the settlement of cases in revenue courts will be. He also clarified that the state government will work shoulder to shoulder with all the initiatives of the Central Government regarding improvement in land records, so that this system can become more effective and public welfare.
The Chief Minister said that the Central Government is making significant efforts to bring transparency, speed and accuracy in land revenue records through technology-based innovative initiatives, which will directly benefit farmers and common citizens. He directed the officials of the Revenue Department to ensure all necessary steps in this direction promptly.
Union Land Resources Secretary Shri Manoj Joshi said that the condition of land records in Chhattisgarh is relatively better and with the active cooperation of the state government, it is being further improved. He said that earlier the land survey done through traditional method used to take more time, but now with the use of modern techniques this process has become faster, more accurate and reliable.
Shri Joshi said that the Central Government is making special efforts to improve the land record maintenance system, under which financial and technical assistance is being provided to the states. He said that many times technical problems arise in updating the maps during the purchase and sale of land, which can be effectively overcome through digital survey. This will provide updated and authentic map to every citizen, which will reduce irregularities and the expansion of urban areas can be planned in a better way.
