More than 45 hundred surplus teachers got new posting
Counselling was done in the presence of collectors
Counselling process continues in a transparent manner in the remaining districts
Raipur, 4 June 2025: As per the guidelines of the state government, the process of counselling of surplus 4456 assistant teachers, head readers and lecturers of 16 districts of the state has been completed. So far, new posting has been issued to more than 4456 teachers. Counselling has been completed in Korba, Sukma, Mahasamund, Gariaband, Balodabazar, Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur, Sakti, Jashpur, Korba, Mungeli, Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai, Durg, Rajnandgaon, Balod, Bijapur and Surajpur. Surplus teachers were counselled on the basis of seniority. The counselling process is going on in the remaining districts. In the counselling process, teachers selected schools of their choice from the vacant seats. Out of the total 10,463 schools in the state, only 166 schools will be adjusted. Out of these 166 schools, 133 are such schools in rural areas, in which the number of students is less than 10 and another school is operating within a kilometre. Similarly, there are 33 schools in urban areas, in which the number of students is less than 30 and another school is operating within a radius of 500 metres. For this reason, 166 schools are being adjusted for the purpose of better education, this will not affect the studies of children in any situation. The remaining 10,297 schools will remain fully operational. Necessary adjustments are being made in them only at the administrative and educational level. The use of school buildings will continue as before and teachers will also be available wherever required.
Actually, the Chhattisgarh government is rationalising i.e. rationalising schools and teachers to improve the quality of education in the urban and rural areas of the state. Its objective is to ensure better use of resources and teachers where the need is greater. Schools that are unable to provide proper education due to fewer students should be adjusted with nearby good schools, so that children can get better environment, resources and equal opportunity to study. This will provide children with more qualified and subject-specific expert teachers. Facilities like library, lab, computer etc. will be available in schools. Schools with a shortage of teachers will now get adequate teachers. Schools that previously had only a few students will now be able to get better education by going to nearby good schools. This change will improve the level of education in both rural and urban areas. The government’s intention is clear, every child should get good and quality education. This is the reason why the government is ensuring that teachers are deployed not just according to numbers but according to need. The Chhattisgarh Education Department believes that this step is not just an administrative reform, but a solid change in the field of education, which will provide a strong foundation to the coming generation.
