In view of continuous rain, the staff of Municipal Corporation Bhilai is constantly touring to solve the problem. They are going to the shops and taking action to seize single use plastic and challaning and also inspecting the food items being sold, whether they are edible or not. In this connection, the team of Zone No. 01 inspected the items of 6 shops selling food items by putting up carts on the road. During the inspection, it was found that some shopkeepers were selling stale food items.

It was smelling bad and was not fit for sale. It was being served to the customers after heating it. While seizing the stale food items, it was destroyed by burying it in the ground and adding bleaching powder. A fine of Rs. 2000 was also collected from the concerned. They were warned that if they are found selling it again, the cart itself will be seized. People who buy and eat food items were also warned to avoid eating stale food being sold in the open, thinking it to be fresh. Eating such food items can cause food poisoning.
