Coordination between nature and progress is necessary: ​​Chief Minister Dr. Yadav

Bhopal. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that environment is the most important issue today. We all have to fulfill the duty of saving the earth. India is also recognized in the world in terms of saving nature and environment. Coordination between nature and progress is necessary. Prime Minister Shri Modi is increasing the prestige of India with his able leadership all over the world. His concern for the environment is proved by the fact that he is working with the target of 500 gigawatt renewable energy by India by the year 2030. Certainly, we will be successful in reducing carbon emissions by one billion tonnes. This is an important resolution from the environmental point of view. The citizens of the country are also cooperating to fulfill it. Madhya Pradesh is continuously working in the renewable energy sector. As per the resolution of Prime Minister Shri Modi, the state will contribute as much as possible to increase solar energy production.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the discussion session and national seminar on the topic “Contribution of States in Global Efforts for Climate Change: India’s Commitment” at Kushabhau Thackeray International Convention Center on Monday. It has been organized by Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Good Governance and Policy Analysis (AGPA) and Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology in collaboration with Narmada Samagra Sanstha Parivai and Sikoidecon Organization.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that in the phase the world is going through at present, our Indian way of life, our beliefs and our basic approach of connecting with God and nature have their own importance. Indians are known for a great lifestyle. We are serious about the purity of food and water. Madhya Pradesh has the special blessings of God. While our country is a lover of humanity, India is also active for its commitment towards the environment. Everyone is familiar with India’s noble sentiment for the welfare of the world.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Prime Minister Shri Modi is a ray of hope for the countries of the world. While the conditions of war between Russia and Ukraine are in front of everyone, nations like Israel, which are known for the use of technology and struggle for identity, have a respectful attitude towards India. Swami Vivekananda had said that the 21st century will belong to India. Today, in view of the strength of Prime Minister Shri Modi and India and being environmentalist, our reputation is increasing in the world.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the Madhya Pradesh government has taken necessary decisions for environmental protection of the Narmada river and its banks. Madhya Pradesh is the motherland of rivers. It is our priority to maintain the cleanliness of all rivers and the balance of our eco-system. Our Son river strengthens the holy river Ganga. Chambal and Kshipra also play the same role through Yamuna for the Ganga basin. Betwa also meets Yamuna ji. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that we believe in “live and let live”. There is Ratapani Tiger Reserve near Bhopal. Humans are seen on the roads near Bhopal during the day and tigers at night.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav expressed hope that this national seminar and discussion session will bring out important conclusions on various aspects related to the environment. He wished for the success of this ideological program. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav inaugurated the discussion session by lighting a lamp.

The session was virtually addressed by Mr. Eric Solheim, former Minister of International Development and Environment of Norway and former Executive Director of UNDP. He said that Madhya Pradesh is a very beautiful state. Its heritage is worth seeing. The climate protection work being done in Madhya Pradesh will have global importance. Agpa CEO Mr. Lokesh Sharma said that Madhya Pradesh has touched many dimensions of progress in the last two decades. The Madhya Pradesh government is serious about the environment. The United Nations Climate Conference is being organized in Azerbaijan next month. In this context, organizing a state level pre-COP discussion session is important. This is the first discussion program of its kind regarding the participation of states in relation to India’s commitment to the environment. This discussion program was designed to increase the participation of society with the government and to discuss with individuals and organizations working as watchdogs for the environment.

The Director of the advocacy organization Mr. Ajay Jha said that the temperature is likely to rise by 2.5 degrees by the end of the century. Dr. Vivekanand Pai of Vigyan Bharati, Kerala said that carbon emissions in India are 1.8 tons per capita, which is less than the world’s average of 4.5 tons per capita. Secretary of SICODICON Mrs. Manjubala Joshi said that everyone will have to make joint efforts to stop the horrors of climate change. Retired officer of Indian Administrative Service Mr. R.S. Prasad said that all programs related to climate change should be self-driven. Climate justice is necessary. Director General of Council of Science and Technology Dr. Anil Kothari expressed his gratitude.
