Cooperative Secretary took stock of paddy procurement center

Raipur. Secretary of Cooperative Department and in-charge of Bemetara district Dr. C.R. Prasanna reached Lolesara, paddy procurement center of Bemetara district yesterday. He took stock of the preparations made for paddy procurement there. He took detailed information about biometric and other computer based processes and gave necessary instructions to the officials.

Dr. Prasanna told the officials that it should be ensured that the farmers coming to sell paddy do not face any kind of problem. Proper arrangements for shade, drinking water etc. should be made in advance. It should also be ensured that the farmers are paid on time. He talked to the farmers present at the center and took information about the crop etc. He also took information about the paddy sold last year and the outstanding bonus received. The farmers said that the payment for the paddy sold last year was also received on time and the amount of outstanding bonus was also credited to the bank account. Before this, he reached the district hospital to get information about the Ayushman cards being made for the beneficiaries. He also asked the Chief District and Health Officer to complete the task of making 100% Ayushman cards by organizing camps as per the need.

The Secretary-in-charge then reached the Krishi Vigyan Kendra. There he also observed the vegetable plants being prepared in poly house or high-tech nursery. He motivated the farmers to grow other commercial crops besides paddy and instructed the officials to provide training to the farmers as per the need.

Senior Scientist and Head Krishi Vigyan Kendra Dr. Toshan Kumar Thakur told about the profitable business of setting up poly house or high-tech nursery and production of nursery plant material of vegetables etc. He told that at present in Bemetara district, various vegetable crops are cultivated in more than 19 thousand acres throughout the year. Such farmers who do not have agricultural land are also earning additional income by producing mushrooms in the extra room of their house. District administration officials were also present on this occasion.
