Completed her visit to Manila, Philippines as part of Eastern Fleet operational deployment to the South China Sea.

Naval Ships Delhi, Shakti and Kiltan visited Manila, Philippines in the South China Sea as part of the operational deployment of the Eastern Fleet of the Indian Navy. The visit demonstrated India’s commitment to further strengthen its strong ties with the Philippines.

The port call included subject matter expert exchanges (SMEEs) between Indian and Philippines naval personnel, sports events, cross deck visits, cultural exchanges and collaborative community outreach programs.

Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Fleet, and Officer Commanding Ships R Admiral Rajesh Dhankhar, interacted with Commander Philippine Fleet (CPF), R Admiral Renato David, and Deputy Commandant for Operations, Philippine Coast Guard, V Admiral Rolando Lizor Punjalan Jr. . The Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Fleet held wide-ranging discussions with the Flag Officer in Command, Vice Admiral Toribio Dulinyan Adasi JT on matters of mutual interest, opportunities for cooperation and the prevailing security situation in the region and beyond. The visit provided an opportunity to discuss enhancing naval cooperation and interoperability between the navies of India and the Philippines.

The port call is a testament to the strong diplomatic and defense ties between India and the Philippines. This is a demonstration of India’s commitment in pursuit of its ‘Act East’ and ‘SAGAR’ policy to maintain peace and stability in the region.
