Madhya Pradesh’s Chief Minister, Dr. Mohan Yadav, lauded her achievements, stating, “Colonel Sophia has brought immense honor to India, Madhya Pradesh, and the entire nation. Her bravery has united us against our enemies.” Dr. Yadav further added, “Three generations of Colonel Sophia’s family have served in the armed forces. Are daughters any less capable? Rising above religious and caste differences, every Indian—Hindu or Muslim, from Kashmir to Kanyakumari—stands united behind our Prime Minister. Colonel Kureishi’s deep connection to Madhya Pradesh stems from her family’s roots in Naugaon, Chhatarpur district. Born in Pune in 1976, her family later relocated to Naugaon, where she spent a significant part of her childhood. She received her early education at Naugaon’s GTC school, attending from first to third grade. Her father’s service in the Indian Army led to frequent family moves, but Naugaon remained her home.
