CM Dhami Reviews Migration Prevention Commission, Issues Key Directives on Reverse Migration

Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held a review meeting of the Migration Prevention Commission at the Secretariat today. During the meeting, he said that a proper platform will be created where people who have returned to Uttarakhand and successfully started their lives again (reverse migration) can share their stories and experiences. The aim is to inspire others to follow the same path and start their own businesses or self-employment ventures. The Chief Minister also mentioned that the feedback and suggestions from these individuals will be used to improve various government schemes so they become more practical and result-oriented. He added that in the coming years, the active participation of women in the state’s development will help Uttarakhand become one of the leading states in the country. This participation will be a true reflection of the strength, determination, and skills of women.

CM Dhami asked Rural Development Secretary Radhika Jha to start working on building the platform where the success stories of those who returned to the state can be shared. He also emphasized that these people should be involved in planning schemes. Talking about permanent livelihood in villages, the Chief Minister stressed the need to focus on skill development and motivate locals to identify job opportunities in their own areas and start small businesses. He said that women working in self-help groups should be given professional training so they can improve the branding and marketing of their products and earn better profits. Other members present in the meeting also gave important suggestions. The CM instructed officials to simplify the schemes and ensure departments like planning, education, tourism, and skill development actively contribute to the commission’s efforts. Vice Chairman of the Migration Prevention Commission, Dr. S.S. Negi, gave a detailed presentation of the work done so far. He shared that around 2,000 people have returned to Uttarakhand and started earning well through farming, animal husbandry, tourism, homestays, horticulture, and other fields.
