During a visit to Maharana Pratap Stadium in Dehradun, he inspected the arrangements for the event’s inauguration, which will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. CM Dhami Inspects Arrangements for National Games While assessing the preparations, the Chief Minister instructed officials to ensure all facilities for players and spectators are in place. He emphasized maintaining cleanliness and directed the installation of LED screens at district and block levels to enable people to watch the live broadcast of the event. CM Dhami highlighted that hosting the National Games is a golden opportunity for Uttarakhand to establish a distinct identity at the national level.
Call for Statewide Celebrations The Chief Minister urged the state to celebrate the occasion with enthusiasm. He pointed out that this event is a significant opportunity to promote sports in Uttarakhand, which could inspire more youth to take up sports and lead to the development of sports infrastructure. He announced that the state government would provide equal prize money to Uttarakhand players who win medals in the National Games. CM Dhami also encouraged community participation by organizing statewide celebrations, including a grand Diwali-like festival, on the occasion of the Games’ inauguration. Focus on Better Infrastructure and Facilities The Chief Minister instructed officials to ensure proper arrangements around all sports venues in the state. He stressed the importance of reliable transportation, accommodation, healthcare, and other basic amenities for players and spectators. In light of the Prime Minister’s visit for the inaugural event, CM Dhami emphasized the need for the police and administration to maintain top-notch arrangements, including public awareness of the route plan for smooth transportation.
